Between 2025-2026, I collaborated with the Vista Grande Association to plan & provide a community mural that involved the work of the youth of Escuela Vista Grande. Selected for my community mural project coordination from past projects in AB and NS, the Association members and I worked together to apply for a grant from the City of Red Deer, securing the news of it in early May. From there, it was a spirited effort to organize the supports, supplies and schedule to have 200+ school youth cycle through one week to paint the background (of which the weather did not cooperate, making us think on our feet).

My work in this project involved planning from start to finish: creating initial designs, coordinating supplies, grant writing, material sourcing and site work, hiring local artist Emma Guido for the “icing on the cake” details, and facilitating school members through the process of painting. Throughout the week, students aged 5-15 saw their collaborative efforts grow and gained confidence in their creative skills.
